Our client, a new Non-Interest Bank setting up in Nigeria is looking to hire a Treasury Operations Officer who will be responsible for following functions:

  • Management of Liquidity and Cash Position
  • Monitoring and review of the bank’s account positions/statements and to check funds availability.
  • Preparation of maturity profiles by arranging all outstanding investments and borrowing positions.
  • Arranging needed replenishments to maintain the required balances in call accounts to cover outstanding payment obligations.
  • Review and processing of deal tickets for the Treasury Unit’s transactions, including money market, sukuk, forex, and swaps, and ensuring accuracy of all execution details
  • Ensuring sufficient balances for any required transactions
  • Producing daily placement positions, reversing murabaha positions, and cash balance positions
  • Performing all settlements of deals with counterparties
  • Reconciling all daily trading activity and ensuring the proper and timely settlement of all trades.
  • Liaison with correspondent banks and custodians to ensure proper and smooth execution.
  • Ensuring that all transactions are released on time and cleared from SWIFT and AML Compliance systems.
  • Following up with counterparties to send their confirmations on time and in compliance with agreements and commitment signed.
  • Ensuring that proper end-of-day checks and controls are met.
  • Processing all service invoices related to treasury systems and execution of transactions in compliance with internal process.
  • Adhering to policies and procedures that direct the management of cash processes that are in line with corporate policies, accounting best practices, statutory requirements and meeting changing business requirements
  • Initiating and reviewing policies and processes related to processing payments, cash in-flows or out-flows, and suggesting recommendations for improvement
  • Preparing the daily exposure limits for placements reports
  • Generating reports on all deal processing and settlement activities as required
  • Preparing relevant management reports on liquidity portfolios under Treasury’s management
  • Participating in the system development and enhancement for Treasury Operations’ activities.



Requirements

The Ideal Candidate must meet the following requirement 

  • Certification in Treasury and/or Treasury Operations 
  • A good first degree
  • Certification in Non-Interest Finance will be an added advantage 
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in Trops or in liquidity and cash management 
  • Knowledge of treasury back office operations, settlements, SWIFT system, financial markets, industry norms and procedures, non-interest banking structures and tools, including money market instruments, sukuk, and swaps and/or other related fields.
  • Sound understanding of Non-Interest Finance
  • Good communication skills
  • Strategic Thinking and Problem-solving skills.
